KemoNine's Berry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cups berries
  • 1/4 cup honey OR agave nectar
  • 1 tbsp corn starch OR 2 tbsp arrow root starch
  • 3/4 cup water (divided into 1/2 and 1/4)
  • citrus zest
  • 1/2 tbsp citrus juice

Directions

  1. Place berries + 1/2 cup water + sweetener + citrus juice + citrus zest in pot
  2. Bring to boil
  3. Remove from heat
  4. Mix starch into 1/4 cup water to create a slurry
  5. Add starch slurry to mixture
  6. Stir *gently* until sauce has thickened enough to coat back of spoon
  7. Chill

Notes

  • You should be able to use any berry + citrus some recommendations:
    • Blueberry + Lemon
    • Raspberry + Lime
  • You can use 1/2 cup white sugar instead of honey or agave nectar
  • This freezes good and keeps awhile in the fridge
