Cherry and Balsamic Glaze

Ingredients

  • 1 shallot
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cherry jam (can use fig)
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter

Directions

  1. thinly slice shallot
  2. add shallot to pan over medium heat
  3. toss until lightly caramelized ; 4-5 minutes
  4. add balsamic vinegar and simmer until syrupy and reduced by half
  5. swirl in jam and 1 tbsp water
  6. add 1/2 tsp sugar (if needed ; unlikely to be needed...)
  7. season with salt and pepper to taste
  8. remove pan from heat
  9. swirl in butter
